Stream of consciousness-styled reactions to some chapters in the CSC Reboot. First started on 23rd April, 2025. For posterity's sake, the main content below is left unchanged, regardless of any spelling errors. Looking back, I kinda got aggressive and really nitpicky in some places. Keep that in mind as you read. Please refrain from reposting ever. --- [From Riches to Rags] 9 panels to get to the point? rly? The two panels following the space one should be merged together. Shin's joke would be in the bg, while nene's confrontation would be the main focus. Nene confronting ai and being worried about her makes sense (they ARE buddies after all). Ai bragging about her riches, isn't. Of course, since the writers know jack about characterization and writing, the rest is downhill. Stop focusing on how ai makes herself to be a tragic heroine. Stop making her so bratty either. Ok, the simps could come to her rescue, but not like this. (Oh and of course masao's still simping for her! I expected the writers to fully retcon the loveshackled ep) There's no conflict. No one hesitates to share their food? No internal conflict of helping ai but not wanting to share food? Heck, there could be a whole moment where only NENE helps out. And THAT'S when they start sharing. blatant exposition. the writers only know how to tell, not show. this is kinda forced (especially considering she gets rich again). Hm, maybe it could be kept, but make it so that there's tension? Maybe before the final part, we get updates about ai's financial situation? (perhaps a good chance to know her parents?) If this were in og CSC, I'd imagine it'd be a whole arc? Ai getting bankrupt is a pretty big deal! Like, the beginning of the first part would be Kuroiso scrambling to Ai to break the news. Cue Ai's shocked face. Honestly I like the idea! IF HANDLED RIGHT. Like, this could be a good chance to flesh out her char. [ch 32 manuscript] I thought this one was quite decent irt Shin's facial expressions. He's neither hyper-expressive nor stoic. Also it had a non-crappy ending! (I could say the same about ch 30, but i have SOME gripes w/ it. Like, why is shin using hima's full name? why are none of the members reacting to the shenanigans inside his house? why so little panels in the first page? (Also i suspect a different person handled this)) Right! don't forget they didn't try to shove in a moral! [vol 36] (decent pacing, but missing sth)
