Unofficial Chinese Translation of Deltarune (names)

Toriel 拓莉珥
see commentary (struggled a bit with this one. first two characters were originally 托利, but they did not look good with the final character, so i switched them: i replaced 托 with 拓 (always felt the latter one looked more t-coded anyway), and 利 with 莉 (which was originally one of the contenders!). Still not sure about 珥, but it has ruler (王) and ears(耳) in it.)
Asgore 亞斯廓
see commentary(scrapped vers: 亞斯虢, 亞斯墎. Cantonese pronunciation of 虢 sounded way off; latter is alright, but 斯 is a little too jarring visually)
Asriel 亞斯利珥
see commentary (combination of 亞斯廓 and 拓莉珥 but the 莉's changed to 利; it looked too feminine otherwise. personally, I'm not satisfied with how it currently looks, so maybe I'll change it later)
Alphys 艾啡司
see commentary (scrapped ver: 艾菲斯, 艾菲司. 司 gives a more dorky impression? 斯 looks too elegant; same goes for 菲. technically, i guess it should be 艾兒啡司, but it's kinda wordy and doesn't look good. plus it's 4 words instead of just 3. the one i went with is close enough)
Undyne 煾黛
see commentary (scrapped ver: 煾黛恩恩 should be read quickly; ideally make it sound like an n sound. originally was gonna put it as 煾黛, without the 恩 nevermind)
Sans 散思
see commentary (could be interpreted as 'scattered thoughts')
Papyrus 帕派羅素

Noelle 諾荋
see commentary (top radical of 荋 kinda resembles antlers. plus it looks better than 兒)
Berdly 巴德利
see commentary (scrapped ver: 巴得利 this was a tough one. ultimately went with the one with more strokes; both because 得 felt like it was missing something visual-wise, and the impression the current one gives. tho, i might change it later. who knows.)
Rudy (Rudolph) 阿魯 (魯多夫)
see commentary (originally 魯迪, but made it into a nickname)
Dess (December) 阿狄 (狄先柏)see commentary (spoilers!) (scrapped ver: 德先柏. originally gonna be 狄斯, but since the original was a nickname, i made it like such in the translation. Also, 柏 for pinales (19/1/2026 edit: what did i mean))

see commentary (scrapped ver: 度利末, 度理末. ideally, the Cantonese pronunciation for 度 should be dok6. 貘 is a dream-eating beast; 'dreemurr' can be a pun on 'dreamer'. 貘 is also pronounced the same as 歿, which means death, in mandarin)
